Do you have boxes of pictures and mementos, loosely stuffed baby books, and photo envelopes with the negatives sliding all over in the back of the closet? These bits and pieces of the past are part of your family legacy, and you can use this four-week unit study to assemble scrapbooks that will help tell your stories for generations to come.
Did you know that Thomas Jefferson and Mark Twain were avid scrapbookers? Did you know that girls included hair weavings in their scrapbooks in the 1800s? I was amazed to find out that Mark Twain probably made more money from a scrapbooking invention than he did from royalties on his books!
In addition to assembling family scrapbooks, your students can use the ideas in this study to create wonderful memory albums for each unit study they do. Perfect for reminding students of all they’ve learned!
The Scrapbooking unit is in electronic format, meaning your children can work through the study interactively, clicking on the links in each lesson to further their own investigation. Each day's lesson plan has been written in two levels: Lower Level (elementary grades) and Upper Level (junior/senior high grades), enabling the whole family to learn together!
